The Studio — An Acoustic Atelier for Deep Listening

Located within the historic Stehli Seiden Areal near Zurich — once home to one of Switzerland’s most important centers of silk craftsmanship dating back to the 19th century — Quantum Vibrations has found its home.

Founded in 1837 by the Stehli family, the textile enterprise grew over the following decades into one of Switzerland’s leading silk producers employing thousands of workers and exporting fine fabrics to fashion houses across Europe and the world.

Within these buildings, intricate fabrics were once woven on mechanical looms — threads crossing and interlacing to form delicate structures of silk.

Today the machines are gone, but the architecture remains. The former industrial spaces have quietly transformed into creative environments and living spaces, carrying forward the spirit of craftsmanship that once defined the site.

In this setting, the act of weaving has simply taken on a different form. One of the quiet atelier spaces has been transformed into an intimate environment for immersive sound work.

Where silk threads were once interwoven into fabric, vibrations now move through the room — forming subtle patterns of sound and resonance.

Soft light, natural materials, and the calm presence of the instruments create an atmosphere where attention slows and perception becomes more refined.

In a place where threads were once woven into fabric, sound now weaves its own invisible structures — forming an acoustic field that can be felt throughout the entire room.
